Fabian Alvarez Balanta attracted the attention of the Colombian Federation in May 2013 during his time with River Plate. He was also called to be partie of U-20 équipe for (2013) FIFA U-20 World Cup that was held in Turkey. In early 2011, Balanta was examiné in the jeunesse division of the Argentine Club and passed the trials and became a sub with the youth squad. In 2012, Éder was becoming more of a regular which led to an eventual championship victory in the 2012 U-20 Copa Libertadores. Balanta's availability has sent shockwaves throughout Europe with Barcelona also keen on poaching him from Argentine side River Plate.

In my test save he joined Borussia Dortmund in 2015 and then made a big-money move to Juventus in 2018. He didn’t have such a good time in the Bundesliga but he made up for the lost time in the Serie A, his average ratings through three full seasons speak for themselves. His profile in October 2021 shows a central defender with perfect marking, solid heading and tackling, very good speed and strength and also top notch mental attributes. With for 20 marking and 19 for positioning I guess he can make you feel very safe at the back. Due to Fabian Alvarez Balanta success with the youth team and impressive talent, he moved into the senior squad officially in 2013.
