Xavier Xavi Hernández was born 25 January 1980 in Terrassa, Barcelona, Catalonia. He is a Professional Spanish footballer, who plays for  Barcelona football club. Who plays as a central midfielder. His shirt number is 8. He is a product of Barcelona's La Masia youth system and has been a regular at Camp Nou since the age of 11. His father name is Joaquim, he was a former player for Sabadell in the first division.Xavi made his way through the youth and reserve teams and was a key member of Josep Maria Gonzalvo's  Barcelona football club B team that won promotion to the Second Division.

Xavi has spent all his footballing life at FC Barçelona. He joined the club in July 1991, when he was only 11 years old.He made rapid progress and in the 97-98 season was promoted from the youth team to Barça B. Xavi was named the vice-captain in the 2004–05 season, in which he helped Barcelona win La Liga and the Spanish Supercup. He was named La Liga Spanish Player of the Year in 2005.

In the 2005–06 season, Xavi tore the ligaments in his left knee in training, he was out of action for four months, he missing a part of the season, but returned in April and was on the substitutes bench for Barcelona's win in the 2006 UEFA Champions League Final. He also won La Liga and the Spanish Supercup again.The Barça playmaker was a regular in Luis Aragonés' Spain team during the 2006 World Cup in Germany, where the team progressed to the second round before being beaten by France.

In the 2013-14 season, the Catalan made history. He played in his 700th match for Barçelona football club against Getafe FC in the Copa del Rey. He equaled Raúl González’s record of 144 appearances in the Champions League, and he surpassed Migueli and Puyol as the player to have featured in the most Clásicos. He scored a total of four goals, three in La Liga and one in the Champions League. In the summer of 2014 he featured in the World Cup for Spain. In June 2014, it was announced that Xavi would be leaving the club. However, on 22 July, after talks with newly-appointed manager and former teammate Luis Enrique, he decided to stay at Camp Nou for one more season.
